Watch This Vintage-Style Jurassic Park Cartoon Intro by Roxxy Roxx

When Jurassic Park released in 1993, it was arguable the golden age of Saturday morning cartoon tie-ins. Alas, our beloved film franchise never received the Animated Series it deserves (Jurassic World on the other hand will soon see the release of Camp Cretaceous later this year). This missed opportunity, however, was the inspiration for Roxxy Roxx’s (Instagram) next big animation project: the would-be introduction for the Jurassic Park Animated Series that never happened.

Roxxy’s 50-second love letter to 90’s cartoon intros is a quick watch, but as you can see in the video above it was expertly crafted in order to get every “vintage” detail right. All of the character designs are appropriately based on Kenner’s Jurassic Park toy line, just as it would of been had the TV show been a reality. Even the music, a synthetic take on the iconic Jurassic Park theme created by Adam Ross (YouTube), is pitch perfect paired with the dated animation aesthetic.

The only downside of Roxxy’s amazing creation is that it ends — leaving us all intensely curious what an episode of a 90’s Jurassic Park cartoon episode might of been like. Let us know in the comments what you would of liked to see in an animated Jurassic Park series!

That was awesome. Such a shame the JP animated series never took off back then. Word has it a pilot was made but Steven Spielberg was caught on a bad day and refused to even look at it. To think had he been in a better mood, we may have had an ongoing JP cartoon that would’ve lasted for a few seasons :/
